The Celtic Tiger choked on its own self esteem. The only figures on the up are unemployment and liquidations. With a unique viewpoint on the current crisis John Coveney, liquidator, has been granted 24 hour access to a property developer and his family as they count down the final days to the liquidation of their entire business and way of life.
Simon Murphy and his wife Fyonaa had it all, money, jet-set lifestyle, a Hungarian au pair and an outdoor hot-tub. They now look into the chill winds of recessions, their assets haemorrhaging value, their accountant gone and their creditors baying for their blood. As liquidation draws nearer the bank repossesses the Merc and a sub contractor attacks the house with a Christmas tree. An ex-employee blackmails a more and more in denial Simon, who stakes everything on the liquidation allowing him to escape the hell his life has become. Meanwhile, John is worried that David McWilliam's new TV series is more popular.
Each episode takes the events of each day in the final week before liquidation as John Coveney attempts to discover what happened to the Murphy's property empire and rescue something from the shipwreck that it now is.
